Check Electrician Schools in Illinois, IL

Since July of 2010, there is not a statewide electrician license in Illinois. This means that different cities depend upon certain municipalities for an electrician license that meet specific requirements.

We cannot give a complete guide, as these requirements vary depending on the municipality responsible, but you can check your town’s website to see in which municipality it belongs and what is needed in order to acquire an electrician’s license. Chances are, that going through some exams and passing them, is a necessity.

Also, NEC is adopted and required, but depending on the city, it might have adopted NEC partially and/or modified parts of it. You might need previous work experience under a licensed electrician, or you may not. Everything depends.
