New powerlines to the Eastern corner of Laois


Louis Fisher and Michael Moore presented to build a 400 kv power lines from Knocknahara in County Cork to Dunstown in north Kildare, through Great Island in Wexford. Company said that they are looking at 4 routes and will chose the convenient one.

According to an article posted on Leinster Express, this project is entirely different and not connected to the planned substation in Ratheniska.

Louis Fisher said that overhead cables are more reliable compared to underground cables and it is also less expensive.
